Welcome New Families

 

At Coker Elementary, our Student 2 Student (S2S) program is a student-led organization dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, especially those new to our campus. S2S members meet monthly to help new students feel connected through campus tours, lunch buddies, recess friends, and opportunities to get involved in clubs and leadership activities.

Our S2S students are actively involved in service projects throughout the year, including playground clean-up efforts and campus food drives. They also play an important leadership role in several special campus events, including hosting our Veterans Day Assembly and leading activities during the Month of the Military Child. Celebrations include Purple Up Day, themed dress-up days, encouraging chalk messages at the school entrance, and other activities that honor and support military-connected students and families.

New students have opportunities to connect with the counselor and librarian through team-building activities and service projects designed to help build friendships and a sense of belonging. When new families arrive at Coker Elementary, they are welcomed with campus information and student-led tours to help ease the transition into our school community.

The S2S program at Coker Elementary strives to ensure every student feels seen, supported, connected, and proud to be part of our school family.
